Kingston – Rear Extension & Contemporary Home Refurbishment

This project in Kingston is a wonderful example of how our design and build company can refresh a traditional property with a contemporary twist. Our clients wanted to retain the character of their home while introducing modern elements that would improve functionality, comfort, and style. The result is a home that blends classic charm with sleek, up-to-date features.

At the heart of the transformation is a new rear side extension, designed to expand the kitchen and create a central hub for family life. A beautifully colour-matched kitchen and flooring were installed, with the standout feature being the “traditional meets modern” island—complete with a wooden tabletop and bar stools. To complement the design, we installed spotlights and bespoke lighting throughout, ensuring the space feels perfectly lit whether day or night.

Large bi-folding doors open out into the garden, extending the living area and creating an ideal space for entertaining. Above the kitchen, a striking skylight paired with additional Velux windows maximises natural light, adding a bright, airy feel to the extension.

Beyond the kitchen, we introduced several new features that add style and practicality: a contemporary fireplace, a striking blue box glass feature, a brand-new WC with shower, and a dedicated office space—making the property more versatile for modern living. Every element was chosen to enhance the home’s function while delivering a clean, modern aesthetic.
